Packers Injury Update Ahead of Game Against Washington

The Green Bay Packers are gearing up for their matchup against the Washington Commanders. As of now, five players are listed as questionable, while two have been ruled out.

Questionable Players:

• Cornerback Nate Hobbs (knee)
• Right tackle Zach Tom (oblique)
• Left guard Aaron Banks (ankle/groin)
• Safety Zayne Anderson (knee)
• Defensive lineman Micah Parsons (back)

Players Ruled Out:

• Defensive lineman Brenton Cox Jr. (groin)
• Cornerback Bo Melton (shoulder)

Nate Hobbs had knee surgery early in training camp but made a return to practice last week. He was a question mark for the recent game against Detroit but didn’t play.

Zach Tom and Aaron Banks both left the last game against the Lions due to injury and were not able to participate in practice this week. Head Coach Matt LaFleur commented, “Both have a lot of experience, so I’m not overly concerned. We will assess them closer to kickoff.”

In their absence, former first-round pick Jordan Morgan filled in for Banks at left guard, while Darian Kinnard, who joined the team last month, stepped in for Tom at right tackle. Kinnard said, “I always prepare as if I’m going to play. Whatever happens on game day, I’m ready.”

Parsons is being closely monitored after a decent debut in the last game. He managed 29 snaps and was listed as limited in practice this week.

Additionally, linebacker Quay Walker, dealing with a quadricep issue, improved from limited practice earlier in the week to full participation by Wednesday. Other players expected to be available include quarterback Jordan Love and receivers Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks.

On the other side, Washington has also reported injuries. Punter Tress Way (back) and defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. (knee) are questionable for the game, while several Commanders players, including quarterback Jayden Daniels and running back Austin Ekeler, are cleared to play.

Injuries are always a part of the game, and both teams are adapting. Depth in the roster will be crucial as players step up. It’s a reminder that while injuries can sideline key players, they can also pave the way for others to shine.
