MISHIMA CITY, Japan – The final round of the Pan Pacific University Golf Super League was called off due to bad weather. The University of Hawai’i women’s golf team finished in eighth place with a total score of 588 after 36 holes.
Nihon University took home the championship title, finishing at 3-under 565. They were followed closely by UCLA at 566 and Meiji University at 567. Fukui University of Technology and Tohoku Fukushi University rounded out the top five.
Maline Kraus led the Rainbow Wahine, finishing 12th at even par 142. Emiko Sverduk tied for 23rd at 4-over 146, while Wendy Song finished tied for 46th at 10-over 152. Varnika S. Achanta tied for 49th at 11-over 153, and Sofina Firouzi placed 63rd with a score of 165.
UCLA’s Maye Huang, Nihon’s Nagi Kuramochi, and Meiji’s Shio Chaki all shared medalist honors, each finishing at 5-under 137.
Next up for the Rainbow Wahine is the Leadership and Golf Invitational on September 15 and 16 at Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Washington.
