The gazette issued by sidelining non secular minorities in the forty third Civil Services (BCS) recruitment highlights the discriminatory insurance policies of the government.

Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Council has demanded instant cancellation of the gazette issued on December 30. The council says that 168 candidates have been excluded in this gazette, of which 71 are from non secular minority communities. This has been described as a direct instance of spiritual hatred and discriminatory mentality.

The council has issued an announcement demanding the Public Administration Advisor of the interim government to instantly cancel the gazette and embody all the lacking candidates. They say that this determination goes towards the expectations of the latest anti-discrimination motion and promotes inequality in the society. This controversy in Bangladesh has raised severe questions on social concord and democratic values.

Past of persecution of minorities in Bangladesh

After the ouster of Sheikh Hasina’s government, Bangladesh has seen a rise in incidents of violence and discrimination towards non secular minorities. Attacks and persecution of minority communities have intensified since the finish of 2024, deepening social rigidity and inequality in Bangladesh.
