Paul Simon is back in the spotlight! After delighting fans with a duet alongside Sabrina Carpenter on “SNL50,” Simon shared exciting news. He announced a new tour called the Quiet Celebration Tour, which begins on April 4 in New Orleans and wraps up on August 3 in Seattle. Tickets go on sale this Friday on his website.
This is quite a surprise, especially since Simon hinted at retirement after his farewell tour in 2018. He faced some challenges, including significant hearing loss in his left ear. However, he remains passionate about music. In 2023, during a Q&A session after a screening of the documentary “In Restless Dreams: The Music of Paul Simon,” he opened up about his hearing struggles. He said, “I haven’t accepted it entirely, but I’m beginning to.”
In an interview with The Guardian last year, Simon expressed a newfound optimism about performing again, a shift from his previous feelings. “Six months ago, I was pessimistic,” he admitted, showing how much his outlook had changed.
Recently, he and Carpenter performed “Homeward Bound” during the special episode of “Saturday Night Live.” Paul Simon first became famous in the 1960s as part of the duo Simon & Garfunkel. He has since enjoyed a successful solo career, earning numerous awards for his impactful music.
