Pope Francis is doing well and resting, according to a statement from the Holy See Press Office this Saturday morning. The office reported that he had a quiet night and took some time in the morning to relax.
Earlier reports noted that the Pope’s health had taken a turn due to an isolated bronchospasm. He began receiving non-invasive mechanical ventilation as a response to this issue, and it seems to be working well, as his gas exchange values are back to normal levels.
After this bronchospasm, it will take about 24 to 48 hours to fully assess his condition. Currently, Pope Francis is being treated for bilateral pneumonia at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital, where he was admitted due to a respiratory infection.
The Pope’s recovery is being monitored closely, and he appears to be responding positively to treatment. Let’s hope for continued improvement in his health.
