Recently, Pascal showed his support on Instagram in response to a video by activist Tariq Raouf. Raouf criticized Rowling’s involvement in defining "woman" in a way that excludes trans women, calling it “Voldemort villain shit.” Rowling has backed this agenda by funding the group For Women Scotland, which pushes for these exclusionary definitions.

Raouf expressed a strong sentiment against Rowling’s brand, stating, “It has become our mission as the general public to make sure that every single thing that’s ‘Harry Potter’-related fails.”

Pascal responded to this by liking the video and commenting, "Awful disgusting SHIT is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior.”

Pascal’s support for the trans community is personal. His sister, Lux Pascal, came out as a trans woman in 2021, and he hasn’t shied away from publicly celebrating her. In a 2023 interview with Esquire, Pascal described Lux as "one of the most powerful people and personalities I’ve ever known.” He emphasized a protective instinct, saying, “My protective side is lethal, but I need her more than she needs me.”

Many other celebrities have also condemned Rowling’s views, including "Bridgerton" star Nicola Coughlan and the lead actors from the Harry Potter films: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson. Each has publicly expressed their support for trans rights, showcasing a broader trend among celebrities speaking out against transphobia.

Rowling responded to this backlash with a selfie showing her drinking, captioned, "I love it when a plan comes together. #SupremeCourt #WomensRights." This response underlined her defiance despite the growing dissent against her views.

Looking at the bigger picture, the discourse around gender identity and representation has significantly shifted in recent years. According to a 2023 survey by the Williams Institute, 1.6 million adults in the U.S. identify as transgender, reflecting a growing visibility and acceptance on issues of gender identity. Celebrities like Pascal are using their platforms to challenge harmful narratives and support marginalized communities, which seems to resonate with many fans on social media.
