Penn Women’s Golf Shines with a Top-5 Finish at Princeton Invitational

The University of Pennsylvania women’s golf team recently participated in the Princeton Invitational, wrapping up in fifth place among thirteen teams. The competition took place over two days at Springdale Golf Club, with teams playing a total of 54 holes.

Penn finished the tournament with a score of 32-over-par 884, shooting rounds of 289, 295, and 300. Princeton emerged as the champion, finishing at 1-under-par 851. Rutgers and Columbia followed closely, with scores of 860 and 866, respectively. Harvard also outperformed Penn, scoring 880, while Dartmouth and Yale finished behind the Quakers.

On the individual front, freshman Mi Li started strong but struggled in her final round, ultimately finishing tied for seventh with a score of 2-over-par 215. She had impressive stats for the tournament, tying for second with 10 birdies and excelling in par-4 scoring.

Senior Julie Shin tied for 17th, performing consistently over all three rounds and ending at 9-over-par 222. Sophomore Claire Lu tied for 35th with a score of 226, while junior Maggie Ni concluded the tournament at 227. Senior Bridget O’Keefe performed well in the final round, finishing at 233. Junior Madeleine Zang, competing individually, scored 228.

The individual leaderboard saw a tie for first, with Columbia’s Kristina Xu and Princeton players Olivia Duan and Thanana Kotchasanmanee all finishing at 2-under-par 211.

Looking ahead, Penn will compete next at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational on October 18-19, hosted by the University of Delaware.
