Florida Atlantic University’s women’s golf team is currently in sixth place at the American Athletic Conference Championship. After two rounds, sophomore Charlotte Perkins shot a 70 (-2) on Tuesday, putting her just three shots behind the individual leader.
Tulsa is showing strong performance, leading the team competition by 15 strokes. Romaine Masserey and Lovina Gunnar from Tulsa are tied for first place at -5.
Perkins started her round impressively, making birdies on three of her first five holes. She ended the front nine strong with a score of 33 (-3). Although she faced some challenges with a couple of bogeys on the back nine, she managed to regain momentum with another birdie on the 15th hole. This push helped her climb to fifth place on the leaderboard.
Freshman Nancy Cox also had a solid round, finishing with a score of 74 (+2) and securing a spot in the Top 10.
