Orlando, Fla. – The Abilene Christian women’s golf team, ranked 101st, finished the second day of the UCF Challenge at Eagle Creek Golf Club, currently tied for 11th place. After a 15-over 303 in the second round, their total score stands at 26-over 834.
Teams aimed to maximize play before colder weather sets in. ACU will complete the remaining holes on Tuesday, with a shotgun start scheduled for 10 a.m. (CT).
The Wildcats are tied with North Florida and trail South Alabama by seven strokes for 10th place. Kate Pickrell leads ACU, sitting in a tie for 46th at 4-over 208 after a 2-over 74 in the second round, including two birdies. She’s currently 1-over with three holes left in her final round.
Ryann Honea and Jasmine Do are both tied for 56th at 6-over 210. They each registered a 5-over 77 in the second round. Honea is doing well in the final round, currently 1-over with three holes to play, and ranks sixth in the field with 39 pars. Do leads the team with seven birdies.
Maddi Kamas is tied for 70th at 10-over 210, shooting a 3-over 75 in round two, which included two birdies. She remains 1-over with four holes remaining. Marissa Loya rounds off the squad in 92nd place at 21-over 223 after a 6-over 78 in round two.
