Playoff Bound: Bears Secure 2025 Postseason Spot – What This Means for Fans!

Just a day after an impressive comeback against the Packers, the Bears secured a playoff spot when the Lions fell to the Steelers, 29-24. This victory marked a significant milestone for the team, allowing them to focus on the postseason.

The Bears, with an 11-4 record, are in a strong position. They lead the NFC North, one and a half games ahead of Green Bay. The team can clinch the division title by winning one of their last two games against San Francisco or Detroit. Interestingly, even if they lose both games, they can still win the North if the Packers stumble in their final matches against Baltimore or Minnesota.

The playoff race is heating up, with six teams vying for five spots. In addition to the Bears and Packers, the Lions are competing in the North. The NFC West also offers fierce competition, with the Seahawks, Rams, and 49ers each battling for postseason glory.

As of now, the Bears stand as the No. 2 seed in the NFC, trailing only the Seahawks. The Eagles, who clinched the NFC East, sit in the No. 3 position. The Bears hold a tiebreaker advantage over Philadelphia due to their earlier victory against them.

Last Saturday, the Bears shocked everyone by coming back from a 16-6 deficit to beat the Packers 22-16 in overtime. They scored 10 points in the final two minutes of regulation to tie the game, capping it off with a stunning 46-yard touchdown pass from Caleb Williams to DJ Moore in overtime. This win not only avenged their earlier loss in Green Bay but also marked their seventh victory in the last eight games.

Under first-year head coach Ben Johnson, the Bears have turned things around. After starting the season 0-2, they’ve since gone 9-2, leading the league in games won after trailing in the final two minutes. This resilience showcases their determination and commitment as they head into the playoffs.
