India’s Solidarity with the UAE Amid Attacks
Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to express his strong condemnation of attacks on the Gulf nation. Modi’s message underlined that India stands firmly with the UAE during these challenging times.
In his conversation, Modi expressed gratitude to the UAE president for looking after the Indian community residing there. He emphasized India’s commitment to promoting peace, security, and stability in the region. These sentiments were shared through a post on X, where he also expressed condolences for the lives lost due to the attacks. Reports indicate that recent Iranian strikes have resulted in three fatalities and injuries to about 58 individuals, including an Indian national.
The Indian Embassy in the UAE is actively monitoring the situation, especially concerning the injured Indian citizen. They are in touch with hospital authorities to ensure proper assistance.
The UAE’s defense forces have been proactive in responding to the threats. They reported intercepting 165 ballistic missiles, successfully destroying 152 of them. Additionally, they neutralized two cruise missiles and downed 506 out of 541 Iranian drones.
This escalation follows the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a recent coordinated airstrike by the US and Israel. Iran’s response included launching missiles toward various regional targets, escalating tensions further.
Historically, the UAE and India have maintained strong ties, which are now more crucial than ever. According to data from the Ministry of External Affairs, nearly 3.5 million Indians live in the UAE, marking a deep-rooted connection between the two nations.
Given the present scenario, it’s important to focus on community well-being and regional stability. As always, dialogue remains a vital tool for resolving conflicts peacefully.
