PM Modi Unveils 103 Amrit Bharat Stations: Enhancing Comfort, Connectivity, and Celebrating Cultural Heritage

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 103 revamped railway stations, marking them as Amrit Bharat Stations. Notably, Uttar Pradesh has the highest count, with 19 stations benefiting from this initiative.

Speaking in Bikaner, Rajasthan, Modi called May 22 a pivotal day for India’s railway network. “The Amrit Stations will enhance comfort and connectivity, while also showcasing our rich culture,” he said.

The Prime Minister emphasized that these projects are part of a broader effort to improve India’s railway infrastructure, as well as its water and energy systems. He noted that the government’s speed in modernizing infrastructure has been unmatched over the past 11 years.

Modi highlighted the advancements in Indian Railways, mentioning the Vande Bharat trains, which now operate on 70 routes nationwide. In this time, hundreds of overbridges and underpasses have been built, alongside the addition of over 34,000 kilometers of new tracks.

According to a recent report by the Ministry of Railways, passenger satisfaction has notably improved due to these upgrades, with 78% of travelers now rating services positively—a significant increase from earlier years.
