Items like stuffing, gravy, and turkey are up to 4% cheaper compared to last year. Some frozen vegetables even fell by 15%, and dinner rolls plummeted by 22%. On the downside, the price of whipping cream has gone up since 2024.

U.S. lawmakers are now advocating for the No Tariffs on Groceries Act. This proposed bill would ensure that Congress must approve any tariffs placed on food items. Senator Jacky Rosen, one of the authors, stated, “Donald Trump lied to the American people when he promised to bring prices down ‘on day one.’ I’m committed to passing this bill and fighting against Trump’s trade policies.”

A report from the Joint Economic Committee further highlights concerns. It shows that the average U.S. household has spent about $700 more in the first eight months of the Trump administration.
