What to Expect:
Snowfall totals are expected to range between 25 to 35 cm, with some areas on the Niagara Escarpment and Dundalk Highlands potentially seeing even more. Heavy snowfall rates of 3 to 6 cm per hour are possible, which may lead to very low visibility.
Timing:
The storm is expected to begin this afternoon, with the worst conditions arriving Sunday. The heaviest snow will fall on Sunday, continuing into the evening.
Additional Information:
A strong low-pressure system is causing this storm. Snow will start this afternoon, accumulating about 10 cm by tonight. It may lighten up this evening, but there’s a chance of freezing drizzle for areas near the Golden Horseshoe.
Make sure to stay updated on road conditions. Travel could be extremely hazardous on Sunday, and where snow falls quickly, visibility may drop to almost zero.
