Prepare for Rain: What to Expect Over the Next 3 Days

Rain is on the way for nearly everyone in Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicts showers will continue for the next few days. In Dhaka, expect rain on Saturday, with varying intensity across the country.

A meteorologist at the BMD, AKM Nazmul Hoque, mentioned that Dhaka will see intermittent rain, but by Sunday, the skies might clear up. He anticipates that the monsoon will start to pull back from Bangladesh within four days.

Light to moderate rain, possibly with some gusty winds, could hit Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. Meanwhile, places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Mymensingh might receive moderately heavy falls, especially in the south on Saturday.

Looking ahead, Sunday will likely bring light to moderate rain in Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram, while Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet might see scattered showers. Other areas may remain dry with partly cloudy skies.

By Monday, more light to moderate rain is predicted for Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram. On Tuesday, Chattogram may experience light to moderate rain in a few locations.

This weather pattern not only affects daily life but also has broader implications. The heavy rains can strain drainage systems, particularly in cities like Dhaka, leading to flooding and challenges in waste management. In turn, this affects health and sanitation, prompting local authorities to improve drainage and infrastructure.

Statistics show that urban flooding is becoming more common. A recent report highlighted that about 60% of residents in Dhaka face waterlogging issues during the monsoon. This situation has sparked discussions on social media, with many citizens sharing their experiences and urging better city planning.

As people navigate these weather changes, staying informed is vital. You can check forecasts from trusted sources like the [Bangladesh Meteorological Department](http://www.bmd.gov.bd/) for the latest updates.
