Previdi Shines in Victory: Blue Demons Excel at Dual Meets – DePaul University Athletics Highlights

DePaul’s track and field teams had an exciting day on Friday, competing at both the Gibson Invitational in Indiana and the Bryan Clay Invitational in California.

At the Gibson Invitational, William Previdi shined in the men’s 3000m steeplechase, finishing first with a time of 9:27.90. His performance earned the team 10 crucial points. Griffin Lehnhardt placed fifth in the men’s 5000m, clocking in at 15:10.66. Meanwhile, the women’s team had a competitive showing in the 5000m with Sara Cordova finishing 31st, Grace Havern 37th, and Gianna Sanchez 44th.

On the field, Jessica Beckman impressed with a strong third place in the women’s discus throw, achieving a distance of 47.93m. For the men, Sergio Ayala came in 13th with a throw of 44.09m, and Jaiden Gary secured 19th place with 38.89m. In the women’s discus, Laila Richardson and Kylee Stammer put forth respectable performances with throws of 38.46m and 35.79m, respectively.

Charlotte Anderson excelled in the women’s javelin, placing fifth with a season-best throw of 41.55m, while Ella LeRoy followed closely behind in seventh at 40.77m.

At the Bryan Clay Invitational, Damian Rodriguez achieved a solid sixth place in the men’s 1500m invite section with a time of 3:48.92. Isabella Orozco stood out in the women’s 1500m invite, winning her heat with a personal best of 4:22.90.

Recent data on track and field performance highlights the increasing competitiveness of college athletes.
