Princeton Women’s Track and Field Update
The Princeton women’s track and field team recently had a busy weekend, competing at both the prestigious Penn Relays and the TCNJ Lions Invite. Several athletes achieved personal bests and made their mark in various events.
At the Penn Relays, Shea Greene took second place in the javelin with a throw of 53.05 meters (174 feet). The jumpers were particularly impressive, with Alexandra Kelly finishing third in the long jump, leaping 6.11 meters (20 feet 0.5 inches), and Georgina Scoot placing fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.36 meters (40 feet 6.75 inches).
Two relay teams also showcased their talents. The Distance Medley Relay team, consisting of Olivia Martin, Paola Rodriguez, Peyton Leigh, and Maddie Cramer, secured fourth place with a time of 11:29.04. The 4×800 team, featuring Stella Vieth, Hannah Riggins, Cramer, and Mena Scatchard, also took fourth, clocking in at 8:34.27. Impressively, this time ranks third in Princeton’s history.
Hannah Riggins made headlines by placing seventh in the 1500 meters, achieving a new personal best of 4:14.67, which now stands as the fifth-fastest time in the school’s history. Meanwhile, Adelaide Asante finished ninth in the 400 hurdles, recording a personal best of 58.78 seconds. In the 3000 steeplechase, Lexi Allen won seventh place, posting a new personal record of 10:07.71. Meg Madison competed well in the 5000 meters, finishing 20th with a time of 16:28.28.

At the TCNJ Lions Invite, the Tigers had strong performances, winning four individual events. Maisha Atkinson recorded a personal best of 54.14 seconds in the 400 meters, which places her third in the school’s record book. Lauren Harris followed closely with a season-best time of 56.75 seconds, finishing fourth.
In the 100 meters, Giselle Kirchner took first place with a time of 14.36 seconds, while her teammates Mirtel Klaar and Shea Burke finished closely behind. Sophie Steidle won the 1500 meters, setting a personal record of 4:52.80. Mari Noble also performed well, claiming third place in the 1500 invite with a time of 4:37.31.
In the hurdles, Shantell Kwofie achieved a personal best of 1:02.32 in the 400 hurdles, finishing second. The field events were equally successful: Mirtel Klaar won the long jump with a jump of 5.83 meters (19 feet 1.5 inches), while Nicole Rodriguez secured a personal record in the javelin with a throw of 39.70 meters (130 feet 3 inches), earning second place. Jana Ter Wee followed with a strong performance in the shot put, placing third with a throw of 13.38 meters (43 feet 10.75 inches).

Looking ahead, the Tigers are preparing for the Ivy League Championships, known as Heps, in just two weeks. First, they will host the Larry Ellis Invitational at Weaver Stadium on May 2nd and 3rd.
With such strong performances, the team is building momentum as they approach this key competition.
