Producers Guild of America and Entertainment Community Fund Launch Compassionate Fire Relief Fund to Support Affected Families

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) and the Entertainment Community Fund are joining forces to help those in the film and television industry who have been hit hard by the recent wildfires in Los Angeles.

They have set up a fund specifically for producers affected by these disasters. The PGA plans to donate part of the earnings from the Producers Guild Awards to this fund. They’ve also invited members to contribute. So far, they’ve committed $300,000 to assist those in need. The PGA shared that they are “heartbroken by the unimaginable devastation and displacement faced by so many in our community.”

This announcement comes as the PGA delays revealing the nominees for the 2025 PGA Awards. The new date for the nominations will be next week, as the organization shows “care and concern for those affected by the fires.” The award ceremony is set to take place on February 8 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City.

The wildfires have caused significant damage across various areas, prompting many in Hollywood to step up. The CAA Foundation, alongside CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), co-founded by Sean Penn and Ann Lee, has initiated the SoCal Fire Fund to provide additional support.

Major companies are also lending their help. Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery have each donated $15 million. Amazon, Comcast, and Netflix contributed $10 million each, while Sony added $5 million. Other companies like Paramount Global and Fox Corp have given $1 million as well. These efforts aim to bring relief to those most affected by this crisis.
