Progress 2026: UnityPoint Health’s Commitment to Local Care and Community Legacy

UnityPoint Health (UPH) is a large healthcare provider serving communities in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. With over 20 hospitals and 400 clinics, their goal is to ensure accessible and quality care for everyone.

Recently, UPH opened a new Family Medicine Clinic in Conrad, Iowa. This modern facility replaces an older clinic that served the town for years. Tim Cooper, a physician assistant, helped cut the ribbon at the grand opening last November. The new clinic, generously donated by a local resident, has already seen an increase in patient visits. In just a few months, they are on track to surpass last year’s 12,000 visits.

The clinic spans 5,500 square feet and offers a range of services, including an on-site lab, X-ray services, and telehealth options. This expansion allows the team to cater to residents in Conrad and the surrounding areas. They aim to provide a comfortable and efficient experience for their patients.

In Marshalltown, UPH operates a well-equipped hospital, including a 24/7 emergency room that receives close to 20,000 visits per year. Recent improvements include a new MRI scanner that enhances diagnostic capabilities, allowing for detailed imaging that can identify issues often missed in traditional screenings.

Adding to their services, the Family Medicine Clinic in State Center is undergoing renovations aimed at enhancing patient experience. The updated facility will feature larger exam rooms and improved technology, ensuring that their 3,400 annual patients receive top-notch care.

The clinic in Tama-Toledo, while undergoing no major renovations at present, has consistently provided care to roughly 6,900 patients each year from the nearby communities.

According to a recent report by the American Hospital Association, local healthcare facilities are essential, especially in rural areas, where access to services can be limited. UPH’s commitment to these communities is evident through their ongoing expansions and modernization efforts, ensuring that quality healthcare is always within reach.

These upgrades aren’t just improving facilities; they’re also shaping how care is delivered in an increasingly digital world. Patients can now schedule appointments and communicate via the MyUnityPoint patient portal, making it easier than ever to manage their health.

As healthcare continues to evolve, UnityPoint Health stands out for its dedication to providing tailored care that fits its communities’ needs. With continued support and innovation, these facilities are set to become even more vital to the lives they touch.
