Protect Your Privacy: Join Us in Elburn for Document Shredding and a Community Food Drive!

On October 4, residents of Elburn can safely dispose of old and sensitive documents at a shredding event. State Senator Don DeWitte and Representative Dan Ugaste are hosting this free event to help people get rid of unwanted paperwork securely.

It will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Town and Country Public Library, located at 320 E. North St. Participants can bring items like bank records and receipts. No need to take off staples or paper clips, but please remove plastic folders and electronics, as they won’t be accepted.

In a thoughtful twist, DeWitte encourages attendees to also donate non-perishable food items for the Elburn Countryside Food Pantry. This kind of community spirit adds a wonderful layer to the event, turning it into a chance for people to both declutter and support those in need.

While you’re there, you can watch your items being shredded. Just follow the traffic signs and stay in your vehicle. The crew will help unload your documents.
