Pupkewitz Megabuild just opened its new Megabuild Lifestyle store in Kleine Kuppe, showcasing a major investment of N$220 million in Namibia. This new store brings an exciting blend of design and functionality that the Megabuild vision first introduced back in 2014.
At the opening ceremony, Mateus Kaholongo, deputy executive director in the private office of the Vice President, emphasized Pupkewitz’s vital role in Namibia’s economy. He applauded the company for creating jobs and contributing to infrastructure development. “We thank Pupkewitz for their commitment to our nation’s future,” he stated, noting the government’s support for businesses that help achieve national goals like affordable housing.
David Nuyoma, Board Chairman, expressed that Namibians no longer need to travel far to find quality shopping experiences. The new Megabuild Lifestyle store delivers that right at home, thanks to the team’s dedication to customer service and excellence.
Andrea Barry, the Group Strategy Director, hailed the opening as a significant moment, highlighting the Pupkewitz Group’s century-long commitment to Namibia. She said the new lifestyle store blends convenience and modern retail, representing a shift in how products are offered in the country.
Martin Schoeman, the managing director, reflected on the company’s humble beginnings in 1925. He pointed out key milestones that shaped the store into what it is today. “Listening to our customers has given us the edge,” he explained, mentioning how this understanding transformed them into trusted advisors rather than just sellers.
The new Megabuild Lifestyle store isn’t just a shopping destination; it’s designed to be a community hub. It features unique areas for inspiration, expert help, a coffee shop, a play area for kids, and an expansive garden center. Plans for community events, including concerts and local markets, are also in the works, promising to bring people together.
Overall, Pupkewitz Megabuild’s new store not only reflects a commitment to business growth but also aims to uplift the community, showcasing how investments can create valuable spaces for local gatherings and experiences.
