Actor Raghu Ram shared his thoughts about a recent YouTube show hosted by Samay Raina. He expressed regret over some jokes that upset people, especially after the controversy involving podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia’s comments on the show.
Two days after appearing before the Maharashtra Cyber Department as part of an ongoing investigation, Raghu stated, “I do not regret being part of IGL, but I wish certain jokes hadn’t been made.” He emphasized that everyone has different sensitivities regarding humor.
Raghu acknowledged that while he might have avoided certain jokes, it wasn’t his place to dictate to Samay or the creators of the show. “They have to make that decision, and I trust they take it seriously,” he explained.

He also discussed freedom of speech, noting, “It means nothing if we can’t handle being offended.” He added, “Sometimes, offense occurs even when it isn’t intended. I’m sorry if anyone felt hurt.”
According to Raghu, comedians often challenge societal norms and speak truth to power. They aim to entertain, not to offend. “If a comedian does hurt someone’s feelings, they’ll likely apologize,” he said. He hopes society keeps the issue in perspective compared to other matters that may warrant more attention.
Raghu is one of at least 50 individuals summoned to give statements about the controversy. This arose after Allahbadia, known as “BeerBiceps,” faced backlash for a comment he made about parents during an episode of ‘India’s Got Latent.’ He asked a contestant a shocking question that sparked outrage.
Following the criticism, Allahbadia apologized, admitting he “shouldn’t have said that.” The Mumbai Police have already questioned several people linked to the show, although no formal case has been filed yet.
Samay Raina has also been asked to meet with the police and the Cyber Department, but he requested more time for personal reasons.
Cops Find Ranveer Allahbadia’s Flat Locked
Authorities from Mumbai and Assam visited Allahbadia’s home but discovered it locked. They intended to question him regarding the controversial remarks.
Though Allahbadia was supposed to report to the police, he requested to do so from home, which was denied. After he missed the first summons, officers went to his residence to seek him out.
The inquiry stems from a complaint filed by a concerned citizen, alleging that Allahbadia’s content is inappropriate. Others involved in this situation include Raina and various content creators from the show.
