Hyderabad’s Rahil Pillarisetty marked his long-awaited comeback with a thrilling victory in the Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open race. This event was part of the MRF MMSC fmsci Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship at the Madras International Circuit. Unfortunately, a massive thunderstorm cut the event short, forcing the cancellation of the last two races planned for that day.
With strong winds and heavy rain impacting the circuit, the conditions were challenging for all riders. Before the storm hit, Ann Jennifer from Chennai and Varun Patil from Bengaluru both secured wins in their respective categories, showing strong performances in the Girls (Stock 165cc) and Stock 301-400cc (Novice) races.
Rahil’s race was full of excitement. At one point, he was competing closely with Sarthak Chavan, who had won the previous race. Despite a tough challenge, Rahil made a late surge to claim the top spot. Chiranth Vishwanath, another strong contender from Bengaluru, led early on but ultimately finished behind Rahil and Sarthak.
Veteran racer Rajini Krishnan, a multiple national champion, had a strong run but slipped back as young talents like Rahil and Sarthak took over.
Ann Jennifer, who is aiming to reclaim her national title, expressed her enthusiasm about her performance, winning both races so far this season. Last year, she faced a severe injury that almost led to retirement. Now, her determination shines through as she continues to train hard to stay ahead.
In other races, R Solomon from Bengaluru also demonstrated dominance by winning the second race in the Honda CB 300F class, finishing comfortably ahead of his rivals. Meanwhile, Sarthak Chavan stood out in the Electric RTE race, showcasing his skills in a growing segment of motorsport that is steadily gaining attention.
The racing community is buzzing with excitement about young talents emerging in the sport, with social media highlighting their impressive performances. The level of competition is visible, and there’s a palpable sense of anticipation heading into the next round of races in August.
This evolving landscape in motorsport reflects broader trends in youth involvement in competitive sports, as athletes begin their journeys at younger ages. The thrill of racing and the opportunities it provides keep attracting new fans and participants.
