Raiders Lock Down Tackle Kolton Miller with Exciting Contract Extension: What This Means for the Team

Las Vegas Raiders Extend Tackle Kolton Miller’s Contract

The Las Vegas Raiders have made a big move by extending the contract of tackle Kolton Miller. This announcement came on Wednesday and highlights the team’s commitment to its key players.

Miller stands tall at 6-foot-8 and weighs 325 pounds. He was the Raiders’ first pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, going 15th overall. Since joining the team, he has played in 109 games, starting in 107 of them. That puts him among the top tenth of offensive linemen in the NFL for starts since 2018.

What sets Miller apart is his discipline. He averages just 0.28 penalties per game, which is the second lowest for tackles who have played more than 100 games. This shows his ability to maintain focus and control during games.

In 2024, he was the only offensive lineman to start in all 17 games. During the last season, he faced 664 pass-blocking snaps, allowing quarterback pressures on just 9.8% of those plays. This statistic ranks him ninth among tackles who had at least 600 pass-blocking snaps.

In 2023, even though Miller played in only 13 games due to injuries, he still contributed to an offensive line that allowed just 40 sacks, tied for the 12th fewest in the league. The previous year saw him start 16 games, helping the Raiders achieve 2,059 rushing yards—the highest since 2011—and only allowing 35 sacks, which is the ninth lowest in the NFL.

Miller’s rookie year was also impressive. He started all 16 games in 2018, making history as one of just 16 Raiders rookies to do so since the AFL-NFL merger. In his first two seasons combined, he started all 32 games and played an essential role in an offensive line that ranked high in sacks allowed.

Before joining the NFL, Miller excelled at UCLA for three seasons, starting 23 of 31 games. In his junior year, he was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team, showcasing his potential as a top-tier offensive lineman.

As the NFL evolves, having reliable players like Miller becomes even more critical. According to recent NFL statistics, teams with strong offensive lines tend to have higher success rates in both running and passing plays. With his contract extension, the Raiders are betting on Miller to help take them to new heights in the coming seasons.
