A Booming India
In a recent event in Raisen, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised India’s democracy as vibrant and forward-moving. He pointed out that some people struggle to accept India’s rapid growth, especially in light of recent tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump on Indian goods.
At the ground-breaking ceremony for a new rail coach manufacturing unit by Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML), Singh highlighted India’s impressive economic journey. In 2014, India ranked as the 11th largest economy. Now, it stands among the top four. Singh emphasized that the country’s success is tied to the progress of its citizens. “If we want to move forward as a nation, the people must advance too,” he stated.
India’s defense production has shifted from reliance on foreign imports to domestic manufacturing. Singh noted a significant jump in exports—from Rs 600 crore in 2014 to over Rs 24,000 crore today. “This shows the power of India,” he said. This change isn’t just about numbers; it’s about self-sufficiency and pride in Indian-made products.
Singh didn’t shy away from addressing security concerns in the region. He referenced the tragic Pahalgam terror attack, reaffirming India’s commitment to respond to terrorism based on actions, not religion. His clarity of purpose was evident: “We will not spare those who provoke us.”
The rail coach unit, named BRAHMA, aims to produce 125 to 200 coaches annually, eventually scaling up to 1,100 over five years. This project will create around 5,000 jobs, boosting the local economy in Madhya Pradesh.
Singh concluded by expressing optimism for the future of Madhya Pradesh, suggesting that strong leadership would transform it into a modern industrial hub. With ongoing investments over Rs 30 lakh crore, the state is on a path of rapid development.
