Alia Bhatt has come a great distance since her debut in ‘Student of the Year‘, and her former co-star Ram Kapoor is praising her outstanding journey.
The actor, in his current interview, recalled how the trade underestimated Alia throughout her debut alongside Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. Speaking to Siddharth Kanna, Kapoor mentioned, “Everyone was so young back then. Alia was the youngest, and people doubted her chances of success.”
“They thought Varun and Sidharth had a better shot, but look at her today—she has surpassed all expectations,” he mentioned.Recalling the actress’ early days within the trade, he mentioned, “She still had baby cheeks and looked so innocent Nobody back then would have imagined that she’d achieve what she has today!”
Praising Alia’s dedication to her craft and calling her more professional than many in the industry. Kapoor said. “I know ad filmmakers who’ve worked with her, and they say she treats everyone with respect. On sets, she calls every director ‘Sir,’ even if they’re younger than her.”
Kapoor added that if Alia continued on this path, “she can be Deepika [Padukone].” He went on to add that professionalism is the key factor for success in today’s film industry.
On the work front, Alia is gearing up for ‘Alpha’, directed by Shiv Rawail. The film, part of YRF’s spy universe, will see Alia play the lead in the first female-led installment that also stars Sharvari and Anil Kapoor.
Bhatt also plays the female lead in ‘Love and War’, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles.
