Rangers Women Starlet Empowers Primary School Pupils to Embrace a Healthy Lifestyle

Mia McAulay, a rising star in football, recently visited Pollokshields Primary School. She joined the Rangers Charity Foundation’s ‘Joy of Moving’ project, which encourages kids to stay active and eat healthily.

During her visit, Mia talked about her journey in sports and shared tips on fitness and nutrition. “I loved discussing health with the students,” she said. “It’s vital not only for us as athletes but also for young people to learn about good nutrition and staying active.”

Mia emphasized how important it is for young kids to have access to reliable information about healthy living. She hopes that some of the advice she offered will stick with them as they grow up. “I remember my time in school and want to inspire kids to chase their dreams,” she noted.

The ‘Joy of Moving’ program targets kids aged nine to ten and has been running for ten years. It aims to promote healthy habits through fun activities like football. Over the past year, the program has reached more than 1,800 children in Glasgow, helping them learn about nutrition and engage in physical activities.

Jordan Boyd, the community programs manager at Rangers Charity Foundation, praised Mia’s impact. “Having a dedicated player like her encourages kids to live healthier lives,” he stated. “We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished with ‘Joy of Moving,’ as it truly benefits our communities.”

Research shows that engaging youth in sports and education about health can lead to lifelong benefits. A recent survey found that children who participate in organized sports are more likely to maintain active lifestyles into adulthood. The excitement generated by visits from role models like Mia could be key in changing young people’s attitudes toward health.
