The Oscars are just around the corner this Sunday, celebrating the best films of the year. But before that, the Razzie Awards have announced their picks for the worst movies of 2024.

Sony’s superhero flick, “Madame Web,” has received the dubious honor of winning three Razzies, including Worst Picture, Worst Actress for Dakota Johnson, and Worst Screenplay. Meanwhile, “Joker: Folie à Deux,” another superhero film, led the nominations with seven but won two, including Screen Combo for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga.
Francis Ford Coppola took home a Razzie for directing his ambitious film “Megalopolis.” The film earned six nominations, tying with “Madame Web” and a few others for the most nods. In addition, Jon Voight won Worst Supporting Actor for his roles in “Megalopolis,” “Reagan,” “Shadow Land,” and “Strangers.”
In a fun twist, Coppola responded graciously to his Razzie accolades on Instagram. He expressed pride in accepting several awards for “Megalopolis.” He remarked on how box office success often prioritizes money over creativity. “I chose to go against the norm, even when it’s risky,” he said, hoping to create something that’s relevant for years to come.
Interestingly, “Megalopolis” struggled at the box office, earning only $11.5 million against a budget of $120 million, according to Forbes.
