The Sunday episodes of The White Lotus and The Righteous Gemstones have given HBO a reason to celebrate. Both shows are scoring big with viewers.
The fourth episode of The White Lotus reached a season high of 3.4 million viewers across all platforms in the U.S. This season is averaging 12.2 million viewers per episode, including those who watch later. That’s a whopping 78% increase from last season’s viewership at the same point.
For some context, the second season of The White Lotus ended up averaging 15.5 million viewers. Just last week, it was the top show on Max, both in the U.S. and internationally.
The Righteous Gemstones also had a fantastic start. The Season 4 premiere attracted 919,000 viewers, marking its best debut yet. This is nearly 30% higher than the Season 3 premiere. Season 3 eventually averaged about 5.5 million viewers across platforms.
The season kicked off with an episode titled Prelude, which takes a trip back to 1862. It feels like a Civil War film, complete with intense scenes and featuring Bradley Cooper as a Gemstone ancestor. His character’s journey evolves from a greedy con artist willing to do anything for money—like committing murder and pretending to be a pastor—to one seeking redemption.
This is the fourth and final season of The Righteous Gemstones, airing Sundays at 10 PM on HBO and Max.
