Redice Entertainment Unveils Exciting Debut Sales Slate at EFM – What to Expect!

South Korea’s Redice Entertainment is making waves in international film sales. They’re gearing up to present their first collection of films at the European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin next month.

Based in Seoul, Redice is well-known for the hit webtoon Solo Leveling. While they initially focused on distributing and investing in films, they have ramped up their global efforts in the past year.

At EFM, they will showcase two notable films: the crime drama Sister and the horror thriller Killing Time.

Sister tells the story of an undocumented immigrant trying to fund her sister’s surgery. In a desperate move, she decides to plan an abduction. This film marks the directorial debut of Jin Sung-moon. The cast includes Jung Zi-so from Parasite, Lee Soo-hyuk from Pipeline, and Cha Joo-young from Netflix’s The Glory. Jin previously earned the Sonje Award in Busan for his short film Hello.

The film Killing Time follows a YouTuber crew chasing viral fame. Their plans for sensational content take a thrilling twist when they encounter mysterious figures who present a dangerous offer. Directed by Jang Jun-yeop, known for his work on the drama After Spring, the film stars Ryu Hye-young from The Mayor and Nam Yun-su from Love In The Big City.

Both films are in post-production and are set to be released later this year.

Additionally, Redice will feature other films at EFM, including It’s Okay!, Samakdo, Veranda, and The Go To Restaurant, all currently in post-production.

The Go To Restaurant is a comedy-mystery from Don Lee, a star from The Roundup. The story revolves around a woman returning to her hometown to investigate her mother’s sudden disappearance, featuring Joo Hyun-young from SNL Korea and Extraordinary Attorney Woo.

Lately, Redice has also focused on the international market. They invested in the Thai horror film The Cursed Land, premiered at the Rotterdam festival.
