Eric Weissman, a prominent Hollywood entertainment lawyer, passed away on December 15 at the age of 94. He represented many well-known actors, including Gene Wilder, Elizabeth Taylor, and Rita Hayworth.

His granddaughter, Sara McCrea, recently shared the news of his passing. Over his impressive five-decade career, Weissman also worked with directors like Robert Altman and Peter Bogdanovich. He was a partner at several renowned firms, including Kaplan, Livingston, Goodwin, Berkowitz, Selvin, and Weissmann Wolff Bergman Coleman Grodin. Additionally, he served as the Head of Worldwide Business Affairs at Warner Bros.

Gary K. Wolf, the creator of “Roger Rabbit,” praised Weissman, saying, “He was a wonderful attorney and a consummate gentleman. He was a brilliant storyteller and a very good friend.”

Later in his career, Weissman established his own practice and shared his knowledge by teaching at institutions like the University of Southern California and Sherwood Oaks Experimental College. He also lectured at prestigious universities, including Harvard and Yale.

In 2010, he earned the title of Entertainment Lawyer of the Year from the Beverly Hills Bar Association and received the Distinguished Entertainment Leadership Award from the Anti-Defamation League.

His family remembers him fondly. His daughter Jessica described him as someone who loved humor and gatherings. “My dad was full of fun,” she recalled. His daughter Tiffany shared, “I’ll miss his quick wit and his love of life.”

Weissman is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Weissman, his daughters Jessica and Tiffany, and his granddaughters Sara and Emma.
