Recently, Jennifer Love Hewitt shared that she hasn’t spoken to her “I Know What You Did Last Summer” co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar since the film’s release in 1997. In an interview with Vulture, she explained that there’s no bad blood between them.
Hewitt reflected on the rumors of a feud, saying, “I honestly don’t even know what that was or how that all came to be. People love a story where women are against each other. Why can’t we just support one another?”
Despite the long silence, she feels fine about it. “I haven’t seen Sarah since we were 18, and it’s amusing that people think there’s tension. I have no idea how this started.”
Both actresses returned for the 2025 reboot of “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” In the new film, Hewitt reprises her role as Julie James, guiding a group of young characters being hunted by the infamous fisherman. Gellar, whose character Helen Shivers died in the original, makes an appearance in a dream sequence warning a new character, Danica Richards.
The reboot also features Freddie Prinze Jr. returning as Ray Bronson, alongside a new cast including Chase Sui Wonders and Jonah Hauer-King.
