Menasha recently celebrated the reopening of the St. Joseph Food Program with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The new facility at 1465A Opportunity Way showcases the success of the “Grow with St. Joe’s Capital Campaign.” This campaign raised $1.95 million, thanks to the generosity of local businesses, foundations, and community members.
The updates include improved client areas, a dedicated donation entrance, and enhanced preparation spaces. These changes aim to boost outreach and better serve the community.
Monica Clare, the executive director, expressed her excitement, saying, “Our staff and volunteers are thrilled. It’s a beautiful space that really helps us serve our clients.” Development Director Heather Du Vall emphasized the campaign’s community support, noting that it reflected the power of collective effort.
Historically, food programs like St. Joseph’s have played a crucial role in addressing hunger. According to Feeding America, one in eight people in the U.S. face food insecurity. This renovation not only upgrades facilities but also strengthens the fight against hunger in the community.
The fundraising took two years, while the renovations took about eight to nine months. Such efforts show how much a community can achieve when they come together for a common cause.
