Get ready to dance! The Illinois Valley Community College Continuing Education Center is bringing back dance lessons, and it’s time to join in on the excitement.
Starting February 6 and running through March 13, they offer classes on Thursdays for both beginners and those looking to advance their skills. If you want to shine at social events, check out the “Wedding Reception Survival” class. It meets at 7 p.m. at Lincoln School in Oglesby, located at 755 Bennett Ave. You’ll learn fun moves like the Electric Slide, Cha Cha Slide, Swing, and Waltz, along with some smooth slow dances. It’s a great way to feel confident on the dance floor.
The cost for this session is $75, and it’s a perfect way to prepare for those upcoming celebrations. The class ID is 19644.
If you already know some swing basics and want to kick it up a notch, consider the Intermediate-Advanced Swing Dance class. Meeting at 8:15 p.m. at the same location, this class is all about learning more advanced patterns and techniques. It’s a great way to enhance your style and pick up some new skills. This class also has a tuition fee of $75, and the class ID is 19645.
Both classes are led by Rod and Jane Schomas, experienced instructors who will add energy and fun to your learning experience. They will also offer beginner swing and salsa classes later this spring.
