NASA improved this misting technique to create a finer fog. Renata notes, “This method uses up to 50% less water than hydroponics and 98% less than traditional gardening.” It’s a more eco-friendly way to provide what plants need while minimizing waste.

While fogponics indoor gardens can be pricey—like the Plantaform Smart Indoor Garden, which costs $499.99—they come with some pretty amazing tech. Renata explains, “We use ultrasonic foggers to create tiny water droplets that mix with nutrients and form the fog.” This fog clings to the plant roots, keeping them hydrated and well-nourished.

With this system, plants don’t expend energy searching for water. Instead, they can focus on growing, especially with the help of energy-efficient LED lights that mimic sunlight. Renata adds, “The lights are timed for optimal growth, making plants thrive faster.”
