Rimac Technology is making waves in battery production with the help of iTAC.MOM.Suite.

Battery Module and Pack Production Using an Advanced MOM System
Montabaur, January 23, 2025 – Based in Croatia, Rimac Technology is a top automotive supplier focused on battery, powertrain, and control systems. They are ramping up production for a significant customer project by setting up new production lines in Greenfield, Zagreb. Central to this operation is the iTAC.MOM.Suite. This Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) system ensures efficient and transparent production while meeting stringent quality and industry standards.
Battery construction is intricate, involving several chemical components layered together. The process includes stages like electrode production, cell assembly, and final assembly. Even small changes in production conditions can affect how well a battery performs or how long it lasts. That’s why strict quality control and traceability are vital for safety and effectiveness.
Martina Raguž, IT Project Manager at Rimac Technology, shares insights:
Battery production today is complicated. It requires precise processes and fast production to meet rising demand.
“Additionally, we face strict industry quality standards. For our current project, an effective MES/MOM system is crucial. After a detailed four-month search, we found that iTAC.MOM.Suite meets all our technological needs for battery production. Their transparency and reliability stood out to us as key qualities in a partner.”
The iTAC.MOM.Suite allows effective planning and monitoring of the entire production process, ensuring traceability throughout.
Diogo Oliveira, Sales Manager MOM EMEA at iTAC Software AG, adds:
Making battery cells involves handling challenging and sometimes hazardous materials.
“To minimize risks and avoid mistakes, complete traceability and thorough quality analysis are essential. This helps meet quality standards and specific requirements.”
Building from the Ground Up
A standout feature of this project is that Rimac is developing its manufacturing facility from scratch. This greenfield approach means no old systems to replace, allowing for a fresh and modern production setup. The MES/MOM system can be finely tuned to meet the specific needs of today’s battery production.
The iTAC system for battery pack production is expected to launch in mid-2025, followed closely by the module production line.
Working in this innovative and challenging greenfield environment, along with the expertise of Rimac Technology, the support from COO Nurdin Pitarević, and the capabilities of iTAC software, puts us in a strong position for future growth, says Martina Raguž.
