PUEBLO WEST, Colo. (KRDO) – Shari Bossmann, a registered nurse and health science teacher, has turned an RV into a mobile lab for her online students at Destinations Career Academy. This helps them complete their medical certifications right where they are.

“In the beginning, it was tough,” Bossmann shared. “Many students couldn’t reach the lab due to transportation issues. Knowing they missed out was heartbreaking because I want them to experience the hands-on learning.”
Destinations Career Academy is a free online public school in Colorado. Bossmann had the idea to create the mobile lab, and the school worked hard to gather donations and apply for grants to make it happen. Now, her RV is equipped with health science tools and medical mannequins for practical training.
Bossmann travels across a wide area, from Julesburg to Haxtun, ensuring every student has the chance to learn. “I go where the students are,” she stated.
Her classes help high school students get a jumpstart on medical certifications and earn college credit. Destinations Career Academy offers courses for grades 4-12, making quality education accessible to all.
