Music AI, an innovator in audio and music technology, has just raised $40 million in a funding round led by Connect Ventures—a partnership between Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and NEA—and Brazilian investor monashees. Other backers include Kickstart, Samsung Next, Toba Capital, Valutia, and Pelion, along with music industry figures like Freddy Wexler, 3LAU, and Alexander23.
This funding follows the success of Moises, Music AI’s popular app that has attracted over 50 million users worldwide and won Apple’s iPad App of the Year in 2024. Moises offers a suite of AI tools suitable for everyone, from beginners to top musicians and producers.
Launched in 2019 as an AI-driven app, Music AI has evolved into a key player in audio technology research. Its focus is on empowering creators and enhancing the overall audio industry with state-of-the-art AI solutions, including top-notch stem separation. This has positioned Music AI at the forefront of a new wave of audio tech.
Music AI is also working on advanced technologies in music, such as Music Information Retrieval (MIR). These include stem separation, chord recognition, and music transcription. In 2023, the company began delving into generative AI, exploring singing voice modeling and assistive music creation.
Moreover, Music AI is dedicated to ethical AI development, focusing on using fully licensed content to ensure creators are properly compensated while enhancing artistic expression.
