Auroville’s Traditional Math Research Shines at International Conference
A research paper titled “Changes in Teachers and Students’ Attitudes on Mathematics” will be presented at the 9th Eastern Mathematics Education Conference in Seoul, South Korea, from July 18 to 22. This marks India’s first participation in this respected international event.

The paper has been developed by Dr. Sanjeev Ranganathan, Chairman of the Sri Aurobindo International Educational Research Institute in Auroville, and Poovizhi, a dedicated mathematics teacher at Auroville School. Their study explores the application of traditional Indian math methods in modern education. By implementing these techniques in the classroom, they’ve seen notable improvements in how students grasp mathematical concepts and engage with the subject.

Dr. Jayanti S. Ravi, the Secretary of the Auroville Trust and former faculty member at Harvard University, highlights the significance of this approach.
