Rheyna Steinauer of Southern Connecticut has been recognized for her outstanding performance in women’s basketball. On March 25, 2026, she received an honorable mention from the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) for the NCAA Division II All-America team. This is a significant achievement, being her first WBCA recognition and marking the second consecutive year that a player from Southern Connecticut has earned such honor.

This past season, Steinauer stood out in many ways. She scored the highest number of points in the Northeast 10 Conference, tallying 466 points and averaging 15.0 points per game. Her skills extended beyond scoring; she ranked third in free-throw percentage at 82% and fourth in three-point shooting at 38%. In a standout game against American International, Steinauer achieved her career-high with 31 points, shooting 12-for-18 from the field and hitting 4-for-6 from three-point range, along with contributing five rebounds. On Senior Day against Saint Michael’s, she excelled by making six assists and five three-pointers while also earning recognition for her defensive skills with three steals and a block.
