The survey, which attracted 1,360 responses, asked whether Richmond needs more options for nighttime fun.

The poll ran from December 13 to January 31. Out of the votes, a significant number, 491, came from locals. The breakdown was as follows:

  • Yes, Richmond’s nightlife is too quiet: 33.6% local, 33.16% total
  • Maybe, if there’s more police presence: 21.18% local, 21.10% total
  • No, it’s too noisy at night: 20.57% local, 21.25% total
  • No, I like to go to bed early: 24.64% local, 24.49% total

The results reflect the opinions of adults in the Lower Mainland, with a margin of error of +/- 2.65% 19 times out of 20. The Richmond News employs various methods to ensure the reliability of its data, including checks to prevent fraudulent or duplicate votes.
