Exciting Performances from Slippery Rock Track Athletes
This week, five talented female athletes from Slippery Rock competed in two “Last Chance” meets at the University of Akron and Baldwin Wallace University. All of them achieved top 10 finishes in their events.
Standout Performances
Isabella Bartoletti shined at Akron, winning the javelin throw with a personal best of 44.33 meters. This impressive performance places her at No. 30 on the Division II national list for the spring.
Alice Bogia also made waves at Akron. She secured second place in the triple jump with a leap of 12.09 meters, which is her second-best jump ever. This puts her at No. 25 in Division II. Also, she thrived in the long jump, finishing third with a jump of 5.58 meters. At Baldwin Wallace, she won the triple jump with a distance of 11.71 meters.
Blauser and Kurzawa supported their teammates with strong jumps as well. Blauser finished eighth in long jump at Akron, reaching 5.18 meters. Kurzawa took fifth in the triple jump at Baldwin Wallace with a leap of 11.24 meters.
Allie Taylor rounded out the team’s efforts by taking third in the pole vault at Baldwin Wallace, clearing 3.68 meters—her second-best performance of the season.
Looking Ahead
This week marked a crucial opportunity for athletes to improve their marks for NCAA qualifications. The athletes who meet the standards will learn next Tuesday if they will compete in the National Championships from May 21-23 in Kansas.
