They wrapped up their season as the No. 4 ranked team in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference, going unbeaten for the first time in school history. They clinched this remarkable feat with a 4-1 victory over Franklin Central. Standout performances included 6-0, 6-0 wins from No. 1 singles player Alexandra Grilliot and the No. 2 doubles team, Addi Kooi and Addison Laub. Isla Harvey also secured a win at No. 2 singles, and the No. 1 doubles pair, Jenna Berry and Bella Rivera, contributed to the team’s success.
Today, Westfield heads to Zionsville for the first round of the HCC meet, a great opportunity for them to continue their winning momentum.
In another match, the University team edged out Covenant Christian 3-2, pushing their season record to 6-3. No. 1 singles player Laurel Buttrick and No. 2 singles player Duygu Arseven both claimed dominant wins, each finishing their matches 6-0, 6-0. This marks Buttrick’s seventh straight shutout, showcasing her impressive skills on the court. The Trailblazers will compete against Park Tudor this Saturday in the Pioneer Conference meet.
Meanwhile, Fishers, ranked No. 7, took down Hamilton Southeastern 4-1 in the Mudsock meet, which had been delayed by rain. Both teams are also set to participate in the HCC meet today.
