Rockstar Games has big news! They’ve officially acquired Video Games Deluxe, an Australian developer. This Sydney team previously worked on the remaster of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition and will now be known as Rockstar Australia.
This isn’t their first collaboration. The team also helped Rockstar with the re-releases of L.A. Noire and L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files.
Jennifer Kolbe, Rockstar Games’ Head of Publishing, shared her excitement about the new partnership. She said, “We are thrilled to have Video Games Deluxe join us as Rockstar Australia. Our relationship started with Brendan McNamara’s previous studio, Team Bondi, which created the acclaimed detective thriller, L.A. Noire.”
Brendan McNamara, the founder of Video Games Deluxe, is looking forward to this new chapter. He expressed enthusiasm about continuing to create great games with Rockstar.
Fun fact: Video Games Deluxe was credited in the recent update of the GTA Trilogy, a patch that also removed “Grove Street Games” from the splash screen.
