Future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers is still weighing his options for the 2025 NFL season. In a recent chat on “The Pat McAfee Show,” he mentioned that retirement is still on the table but hasn’t made any firm plans yet.

Rodgers has been in talks with teams like the New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, and Pittsburgh Steelers since his release from the New York Jets last month. The Giants have since signed quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, while the Vikings seem committed to giving J.J. McCarthy a shot at the starting job. Meanwhile, the Steelers only have Mason Rudolph signed so far, leaving them in a more uncertain spot.

Currently, Rodgers is focused on his personal life. He disclosed that he is in a serious relationship and is supporting friends who are facing tough situations. He made it clear that the upcoming NFL draft won’t influence his decision-making.

The Jets moved on from him after just two seasons. After trading for Rodgers in April 2023, they had high hopes, but the reality was disappointing. His first season ended abruptly when he tore his Achilles after just four snaps. Last year, he managed to play the entire season, but the Jets finished 5-12, falling short of their Super Bowl aspirations. Despite throwing for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns in the 2024 season, his performance was inconsistent, ranking him low in several quarterback metrics.

Historically, Rodgers has an impressive record with the Green Bay Packers, where he led them to one Super Bowl championship and was a four-time MVP. He holds franchise records for touchdown passes and completion percentage. In his career, he has thrown for over 62,000 yards and ranks among the legends in the league, including passing Tom Brady and Drew Brees.

Interestingly, while Rodgers has had his share of ups and downs, his recent engagement with the Jets lifted team spirits during challenging times. He even took a significant pay cut in 2023 to help the team with salary cap space, demonstrating his commitment to the team.
