Rowan University and Nordic International University have teamed up to create exciting educational opportunities for students in Central Asia. This partnership aims to equip students with essential skills in high-demand fields such as information technology, data science, and business management.
Chancellor Tony Lowman of Rowan University shared the mission behind this collaboration. He emphasized the importance of nurturing future scientists, engineers, educators, and business leaders. “We’re training the next generation of leaders with one of the most respected institutions in Central Asia,” he said.
Recently, Rowan University leaders visited Uzbekistan to inaugurate a new center at Nordic International University in Tashkent. This center will allow students to study courses that meet global standards, preparing them for competitive careers worldwide.
There are two main academic paths offered:
Master’s Programs: Students will begin their studies in computer science or data science at Nordic International University before transferring to Rowan University.
Bachelor’s Programs: Students will spend the first year in Uzbekistan, followed by three years of study in the United States at Rowan.
This dual-campus program offers students a unique chance to immerse themselves in an international academic setting. They will learn from respected U.S. faculty members and gain valuable experience through internships and practical training. The goal is to develop graduates who are ready for today’s job market, including the possibility of working in the U.S. after graduation.
Nordic International University aims to broaden global educational access, preparing a new generation of professionals equipped to thrive in international careers.
According to a recent report from the World Economic Forum, demand for skills in data science and information technology is expected to grow significantly in the next few years. As economies become more reliant on technology, education systems worldwide must adapt. Partnerships like this one between Rowan University and Nordic International University are crucial in preparing students to meet these evolving job market needs.
By merging local knowledge with international standards, students in Central Asia will have the tools they need to succeed globally.
