The New Orleans Saints may soon be taking their game to a new continent.
In 2025, they’ll face off against the Miami Dolphins, a team that recently revealed plans to host a game in Madrid, Spain. This event marks an exciting first for the NFL, with the iconic Bernabeu Stadium set to host the match, which can seat up to 78,000 fans.
While the exact details of the matchup are still under wraps, the list of potential opponents for the Dolphins includes well-known teams like the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, and Baltimore Ravens. If the Saints take the field in Madrid, it won’t be the first time they’ve battled the Dolphins outside the U.S. They previously played in London in 2017, with the Saints securing a solid 20-0 victory.
The last time the Saints faced the Dolphins in Miami was back in 2009, when they won 46-34. The Saints traveled overseas most recently to London on October 2, 2022, where they had a close match but ultimately lost to the Vikings, 28-25.
