Samford Baseball Faces Tough Losses Against Western Carolina: Key Highlights and Insights

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford University’s baseball team faced a tough day against Western Carolina on Saturday at Joe Lee Griffin Field. The Bulldogs lost both games, falling 4-1 in the first and 8-2 in the second.

Western Carolina dominated with a six-run third inning. Wyatt Stanley hit a grand slam, followed by Hayden Friese’s two-run homer in the fourth, extending their lead to 8-0. Samford managed to score twice in the seventh, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.

The series will conclude with a final game on Sunday at 1 PM at Joe Lee Griffin Field.
