Samsung just wrapped up its summer Galaxy Unpacked event, showcasing the latest in foldable smartphones and smartwatches.
What’s New?
Galaxy Z Fold 7
Samsung’s new Fold is thinner and lighter than its predecessor. It’s just 4.2mm when opened and 8.9mm when closed. With a larger 6.5-inch outer display and an 8-inch inner screen, it gives a better viewing experience than before. It features a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, up to 16GB of RAM, and storage options of up to 1TB. The camera also got a boost, now including a 200MP wide-angle sensor, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 10MP telephoto camera—but it no longer supports the S Pen. The Fold 7 starts at $1,999.99 and will ship on July 25th.
Galaxy Z Flip 7
The Flip 7 comes with a larger 4.1-inch cover screen and an upgraded 6.9-inch inner display. This model is thinner too, only 6.5mm thick when opened. It’s equipped with an Exynos 2500 processor, 12GB of RAM, and a 4,300mAh battery. The camera setup remains the same with a 50MP wide-angle lens and a 10MP front-facing camera. Priced at $1,099.99, it’s also available for preorder.
Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE
Samsung introduced the more affordable Flip 7 Fan Edition, starting at $899.99. It closely resembles the Flip 6 with a smaller cover display and some basic specs, including 8GB of RAM and the battery size at 4,000mAh.
Smartwatches Unveiled
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2
The new Watch Ultra has 64GB of storage, a 590mAh battery, and supports One UI 8 features like measuring antioxidant levels. It costs $649.99 and is also ready for preorder.
Galaxy Watch 8
Samsung’s redesigned Watch 8 features a thinner profile, down 11% from the Watch 7. It comes with Exynos W1000, up to 32GB of storage, and is priced at $349.99. There’s also the Watch 8 Classic, which reinstates the rotating bezel and has a price starting at $499.99.
