Saqib Mahmood Finally Receives Visa to Join England Squad for India Tour

England is gearing up for a fresh start in white-ball cricket under coach Brendon McCullum. Saqib Mahmood has finally received his visa for the tour of India, which kicks off this Friday. His presence is crucial as England embarks on a series of eight white-ball matches next week, setting the stage for the Champions Trophy later this year.

Mahmood had to skip a training camp in Abu Dhabi because of visa delays believed to be linked to his Pakistani background. This situation echoed a previous incident where Shoaib Bashir missed out on a Test match due to similar issues. Thankfully, Mahmood’s passport is now sorted, allowing him to join the squad.

This isn’t Mahmood’s first experience with visa troubles. He missed an England Lions tour in 2019 for the same reason and was also absent last year during Lancashire’s pre-season trip to India. In contrast, teammates like Rehan Ahmed and Adil Rashid got their visas without any hassle.
